Understanding the intricate details of our security systems is important. We welcome your questions!

Q: How do I go about purchasing an alarm system?

A: Call our company for a free consultation. We will visit your location, listen to your requirements and propose a proper system

Q: Do you offer FREE systems?

A: Do not be fooled by companies offering "free" systems. Companies with "free" systems require mandatory 3 to 5 year monitoring contracts at an excessive monthly fee and outrageous service charges. As a result, you more than pay for your system several times.

We believe that you should own your system. It should be designed specifically for the needs of your home or business. You may decide to use your system as a local, no monitoring, just to make enough noise to deter an intruder. Perhaps you may decide to have your system monitored by the Central dispatch station. In that case, with a three to five year monitoring contract we offer a discount on the installation labor cost.

We provide these choices because we believe each customer should select what is best for him/her.

Q: How long does it take to install an alarm system?

A: Normally, a week to ten days. However, in the case of an emergency, we can begin installation the next day.

Q: Who does the installation?

A: Artisan Security employees do the installation exclusively.

Q: Who does the 24-hour monitoring?

A: In order to provide the best monitoring coverage possible, we use an UL Approved Monitoring Station with a dedicated company line as our sub-contractor. We pay extra for ring station services, which provide more personalization than company owned monitoring stations.

Q: What are the different levels of a residential system?

A: First: The main panel, siren, keypad, backup battery, transformer and RJ jack. Second: Contact the first floor and basement - doors and windows are contacted Third: Motion Detectors and Glass Break Detectors Fourth: Fire Devices added to the system

Q: What other types of monitoring systems are available?

A: All alarm systems that are properly installed and programmed can provide temperature, fire, gas detection, carbon monoxide, water flow and medical monitoring.

Q: Do you stand have standalone medical alert machines?

A: Yes we do. However, we can also convert your present alarm system to provide this service with a nominal increase in the monthly monitoring fee.

Q: What telephone and communication providers are comparable with alarm systems?

A: All alarm systems need a dial tone to communicate. If the phone provider provides the customer with proper wiring from their power box the house demarcation block, the system will work properly. A problem is that most phone providers will provide a modem and no other wiring.

Q: Are there any other acceptable forms of communication between the alarm system and the Central Station?

A: Yes, there are several types of cellular units that can be used as the main form of communication or as additional security in case of phone line interruption or intentional cutting of wires. These cellular units have an equipment cost and an additional monthly monitoring charge because the cellular provider has its own communication tower.
